Gordon Stewart – President, CVHS
I am a wanna be gardener! Growing up in Victoria, I was tasked with cutting the
lawn and pulling dandelions. Not a great start to gardening I must say!
Living in the Northwest Territories for most of my working career meant that gardening was a short-lived event, with only the rhubarb being a seasonal given.
Though the 24 hours of daylight did help with growing the few vegetables that I did manage to grow.
Our garden today is a work in progress and a really big learning curve for what works and what does not. Every day is a wonderful experience of the garden, nature
and life! Volunteering with the CVHS was an unexpected thing, but it continues to be a rewarding and pleasurable experience, that I am constantly learning from.
