Native Plants – with Abby Hyde of Satinflower Nurseries

Satinflower Nurseries logoA  surprise speaker in November!  The CVHS is delighted to welcome Abby Hyde, BSc, of  Satinflower Nurseries, Victoria. Abby is in charge of all the orders at Satinflower and consults on meadowscaping.

Abby has a BSc from the University of Victoria in Geography and Environmental Studies. After growing up in Bali, Indonesia, Abby turned her passion for tropical and aquatic plants into a career working with British Columbia native plants. If you have ever wondered what the benefits are of growing native plants, and what those plants are here on Vancouver Island, this is the presentation that you will not want to miss. Learn about how to restore biodiversity to your garden and how to grow what our habitat needs. We will hear about pollinator-plant relationships, and how these are enhanced with native plants.
