Patricia Foster – Treasurer

I became a member of the Society in early 2021 as I wanted to become a better gardener and the guest speaker notices in the paper always got my attention.

I joined the Board in October 2021 as the new Treasurer and have appreciated the foundational work of Sylvia Stone, the previous treasurer.  I also benefit from the diligence and hard work of our volunteer bookkeeper, Isabella.

I am an evolving gardener and the passion for food and flowers really took hold when I moved to my current home in 2007.  In those early days of visioning my new garden, including the desire to grow food, I wrote a poem called “A Wanna-Be Gardener.   I had brought raspberries, rhubarb, and scented daylilies from my previous home, but had also inherited 2 old apple trees in my new garden.

As a wanna-be gardener, I included this verse:

Find the poetry in raspberry canes

The wind in the bamboo, the light of early morning

The canopy of apple blossom.

Write it down.

I am delighted to be part of a group of passionate and knowledgeable gardeners.  I look forward to learning so much more and being of service as a volunteer on your Board.
