Mike Young is an enthusiastic gardener, grass-cutter and compost-maker. He is never happier than when he has a garden project on the go.
Mike’s first experiences of gardening were kicking a soccer ball through his grandparent’s vegetable patches as a young boy! He moved from the UK with his family to North Vancouver in 2009 with his job at an environmental consultancy. He and Wendy retired to the Comox Valley a couple of years ago after finding their perfect garden and house on the outskirts of Courtenay. So far, he’s built raised vegetable beds, a greenhouse, a shed and a collection of compost bins and created new planting areas for their ever-expanding collection of plants and trees.
He is keen to bring his financial and organizational skills to the Comox Valley Horticultural Society over the coming years and, more importantly, learn more about gardening.
