Discover New Plants, New Ideas and Fabulous Containers for 2026
– with Brian Minter
Brian Minter is a horticulturalist and entrepreneur who, along with Faye, his wife and family, created Minter Gardens and opened various garden centres as well as their destination garden store, Minter Country Garden in Chilliwack, BC.
Minter is a garden communicator and writer with over 35 years on CBC, as well as many decades as a syndicated columnist in various community newspapers and magazines. Currently, he writes a bi-weekly gardening column in the Vancouver Sun newspaper.
Brian also speaks nationally and internationally about business, tourism and leading-edge gardening. He travels regularly to some of the world’s top horticultural trade shows and world-class gardens, discovering new ideas, plants and design concepts.
Brian has received the Garden Writers’ Hall of Fame award and the Perennial Plant Association’s highest honour, the Award of Merit. Minter has also received the Order of Chilliwack, British Columbia and the Order of Canada.
In addition, he served as Chairman of the Board and the First Chancellor of the University of the Fraser Valley and Chairman of the British Columbia Automobile Association. He also worked with the Canadian Compost Council to help create a national Plant a Row, Grow a Row (Un Rang Pour Ceux Qui Ont Faim), a volunteer program to raise food for our Canadian food banks.
This will be a Zoom meeting only:
- All ZOOM meetings will begin at 7:00 pm.
- All IN-PERSON meetings: doors will open at 6:30 pm, and meetings start at 7:15 pm.
- In-person meetings (presentation only) may also be accessible via ZOOM from your home.
