“Making a Hypertufa Trough for Your Alpine Garden – with: Paul Spriggs”
Time: October 20, 2025. One session: 1:30 – 4:30 PM
Participants: 12 registrants
*SOLD OUT*
In conjunction with his presentation on crevice gardens, Paul led a workshop on creating a hypertufa trough.
This hypertufa trough-making workshop was on the wish list for many. As one participant said, “it’s something she has always been interested in making”. A huge thank you to our venue hosts, John and Heather Hastie, and our expert workshop lead, Paul Spriggs. Under the guidance of Paul, the participants utilized some basic materials to create hypertufa. Among it’s many attributes hypertufa looks like old stone, is lightweight and provides excellent drainage. This lends itself beautifully for showcasing specialty plants throughout a garden. Each participant also went home with a form for creating this planter again in their own spaces.
