Making Your Own Botanical Salve – with Alina Baker

“Seasonal Solstice Salve Make-and-Take”
With: Alina Baker, RHT, R.Ac, Medical Herbalist & Registered Acupuncturist
In celebration of the beginning of summer, CVHS is partnering with Innisfree Farm to present a workshop on using herbs from your garden to make botanical salve.
The workshop will include:
· Harvesting – participants will harvest St. John’s Wort, Calendula, Arnica
· Making a salve – discuss methods for oil infusion. Demonstration of salve-making with infused oil (prepared ahead of time) and beeswax.
· Discussion of medicinal properties of the herbs harvested while the salve sets
Participants take home 50ml salve plus harvested materials to make their own at home. Class notes provided
