The CVHS is offering a hands-on workshop on the basics of installing a patio pad. This workshop will provide experience on how to build a foundation that lasts and that can be scaled up or down in size based on the application. This workshop will construct a 4’x 6’ area.
Participants will work together under the guidance of our workshop leader (Joel Dyck); using simple tools to prepare the foundation and work through to a finished product. Participants will be asked to bring their own shovels and gloves.
Some of the areas in the home and garden where this type of pad could be utilized are:
- Under your outdoor faucets to keep your house siding clean
- As a landing pad at an exterior doorway into the garden
- A foundation for an above-ground water feature
- A BBQ pad
- Extending a patio
- Extending a walkway or creating a hub in a garden pathway
