Jan. 18, 2021: Arzeena Hamir – Extending Your Vegetable Harvest

Winter Crops – Extending Your Vegetable Harvest

The Comox Valley Horticultural Society is pleased to welcome Arzeena Hamir as our first speaker for 2021.

Join us via Zoom on Monday January 18th at 7:00 pm to learn how to grow and harvest vegetables in these dark months of winter. That is right, it is not too late to fill those empty garden spaces!

With a degree in Crop Science and a Masters in Sustainable Agriculture from the University of London, England, Arzeena has settled in the Comox Valley and is an organic farmer and agronomist. Along with her husband, they own and run Amara Farm, a 26-acre certified organic vegetable and blueberry farm, in Merville. They are also one of the founding members of the Merville Organics Growers Cooperative. Arzeena is passionate when it comes to teaching folks about food production and growing unusual vegetables. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how you can grow vegetables year-round!
