I lived in England as a child and enjoyed helping my parents garden. Later I lived in NW Ontario which has if you are lucky, 90 frost-free days in a year making gardening a challenge. Then came a great surprise after moving west to the Comox Valley. I saw plants I had not seen in years. It was wonderful to be reacquainted with all these lovely shrubs and trees that I had not seen for a long time. That restarted my interest in gardening.
I joined the CVHS to learn more about gardening in this mild climate. I was introduced to many different ideas by the speakers at the meetings & the members of the club. There is a wealth of information and experience in the club, it gives me ideas to try in my own garden.
